New hollow core slab machines with Tensyland iHCS with side indenting system
Prensoland is a company based in Barcelona and ranks among the world leaders in design, production and sales hollow core slab machines installations as well as pre-stressed beams. Now is introducing a new feature in the Tensyland product range.
This company is launching a new development in the production of pre-stressed concrete hollow core slabs 1,2 meters wide: the side indenting in continuous molding as described in the EuroCode 2.
The side indenting mode currently integrated in the Tensyland machine basic model, is easily selected by the operator to set the machine for the production of the hollow core slabs either with or without side indenting.
While with the smooth surface on the side of the slabs a specific topping thickness is required on the compression layer to comply with the total slab requirements, the side indenting increases significantly at no extra cost the shear force between two consecutive slabs and of these two with the concrete pored at the joint, to the point that the slabs could be even untopped which is beneficial to reduce the response because of the mass saving.
